How to setup sFTP in FileZilla


FileZilla is a free FTP program offered for Windows and Mac. This article describes how to setup sFTP (FTP over SSH) with your account at InclusiveHost.

1 Download the free FileZilla program and install it: https://filezilla-project.org

2 In the top left hand menu, click File -> Site Manager.

3 Click "New Site" near the bottom left to bring up a new connection.

4 Enter your domain name in the "Host" field.
Enter the sFTP port 2288
Under the Protocol drop-down menu, select sFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol

Under Logon Type: check Normal
Enter your cPanel username and password. Please note that with sFTP, ONLY your cPanel and username will work. Manually created FTP accounts within cPanel will not work due to cPanel restrictions.

5 You may receive a pop-up window warning that "the server's host key is unknown" as shown in the screenshot. You may accept this warning, and check the box "Always trust this host, add this key to the cache".
